who am I

Who am I?

TL;DR: A dancer, a trainer, someone who likes to figure things out, and an enthusiast of healthy physical activity and quality of movement. Together with my wife, Kasia, we’re running the Skalski Dance School.

A longer version for those who are patient
(an exhaustive, formal description of my experience and the finished course certificates are to be found in the experience and qualifications tab; here’s the more descriptive version)

An MSc in architecture, I’ve always felt the appeal of physical activities.

First and foremost, I’m a dance instructor (especially West Coast Swing) and a coach, but more and more, I can see my place as simply a teacher of good quality movement, in dance and beyond.

I’ve been a champ S level dancer in both styles of ballroom dancing, as well as a ballroom dancesport judge and coach (for 13 years), and currently I’m a West Coast Swing All-star dancer. For the last 8 years, I’ve been teaching WCS with my wife (and inspiration), Kasia.

In search of the best knowledge which could be of help to our students, I’ve also become a personal trainer and a Buteyko Breathing Technique instructor.
I’ve completed various courses on movement, health, biomechanics, neurotraining
. I’ve amassed quite a considerable private library of publications on those subjects, and thanks to it, I’m constantly improving my knowledge and then applying it during the training courses I take part in.

I’m also a perfectionist and a deep thinker who likes to figure things out when it comes to the subjects of my particular interest. The topic I’m most interested in is how to enable ANYONE to stay healthy, move in a healthy way, dance without injuries, and be able to advance as quickly as possible to the highest level in the given dance, activity or sport.

My pet subject is definitely the quality of movement
